Ambulatory Operating Room Nurse (Ambulatory OR RN)

Ambulatory Or Rn's

Ambulatory OR RN's provide care for patients before, during, and after surgery. Duties include patient education, circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially First Assist. Work alongside surgical teams to make sure that patients are receiving the best possible care; serve as liaisons between the surgical team and the patients' families. Ambulatory OR RN's work in a clinic, or outpatient setting. There are several types of operating rooms depending on the type of surgery such as: General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and Cardiac/Thoracic.

Education/Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
• You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
• RN's can only work with an active state license.
• ACLS is often required

*Nephrology Department: Will start PT (2-3 shifts per week) and will turn into FT from Mid-July to Mid-August; prefer Nephrology experience and MUST have Ambulatory or Inpatient experience, great assessment and critical thinking skills. Duties: triage calls and email messages to patients, 80% of patients fall into kidney disease, dialysis or transplant and occasionally (< 5% of time) patient assessment and vital signs
