CAD Technician I

Position Overview  

The CAD Technician will support the electrical engineering team by producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit. The ideal candidate combines intermediate computer drafting skills and a creative, solutionoriented mindset. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Develop and edit detailed electrical plans, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD. 

• Create and update 3D models and drawing sets in Revit to support BIM workflows. 

• Translate engineer markups, sketches, and design concepts into clear, buildable drawings 

• Coordinate drawing content with other disciplines to maintain consistency and avoid clashes. 

• Maintain drawing standards, layer conventions, symbols, and templates in accordance with company and client requirements. 

• Participate in design reviews, offering creative drafting solutions to improve clarity, constructability, and efficiency. 

• Organize and manage drawing files, revisions, and as built updates within the company's digital filing standards. 

• Perform basic quality checks on drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards as instructed by engineers. 

Required Qualifications  

• Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical or engineering drawings. 

• Plus ++ working understanding of Revit, including views, families, and basic BIM coordination concepts. 

• Strong computer drafting skills, including view scaling, dimensioning, and annotation best practices. 

• Demonstrated creativity in presenting technical information clearly through diagrams, layouts, and details. 

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all drawing work. 

• Effective communication skills and ability to follow direction from engineers and project managers. 

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced project environment. 

• Work Authorization: US Citizen or US National, Legally authorized to work in US

• Ability to commute: Houston, TX 77070 (required).

• Ability to relocate: Willingness to relocate to Houston, TX 77070 before starting work (preferred).

Compensation and Benefits  

• Salary range: $35,360 - $43,680 eligible for overtime, commensurate with experience.
