Why Castelion, Why Now Castelion is moving incredibly fast to develop and deliver advanced defense systems at a time when execution matters more than ever. We believe focus and technical excellence are decisive advantages - and we are building a team that can deliver real capability, not just concepts. This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage, where your work will directly shape critical systems, influence major technical decisions, and have immediate, real‑world impact. Facilities Manager We are seeking a highly proactive, hands‑on Facilities Manager to lead the development, operations, and continuous improvement of Castelion's new 1,000-acre site in New Mexico. This role is critical to enabling safe, reliable, and scalable operations across engineering, manufacturing, and office environments. You will serve as the primary owner of the facility, balancing immediate operational needs with long‑term site development as the company rapidly grows. This is a ground‑up opportunity: the site is in early stages, and success will require building structure from ambiguity. You will establish and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), develop maintenance and facilities systems, and drive prioritization across competing demands. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑paced environments, brings strong operational discipline, and is comfortable making decisions with incomplete information while maintaining a high bar for safety and execution. Responsibilities Own all facilities operations across a 1,000‑acre New Mexico site, serving as the primary point of contact for facilities‑related strategy, execution, and performance Stand up and implement SOPs across facilities, maintenance, safety coordination, and vendor management Establish prioritization frameworks to balance urgent operational needs, site development, and long‑term infrastructure planning Build and scale preventative maintenance programs for both facility systems and manufacturing/shop equipment Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, fire protection, and industrial infrastructure Support installation, commissioning, and ramp of manufacturing equipment and production spaces Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely resolution of maintenance, repair, and operational issues Source, manage, and hold accountable external vendors and contractors for quality, cost, and schedule across a large and evolving site Partner closely with EHS, security, engineering, and operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Partner closely with our design engineer to manage site planning efforts including space allocation, infrastructure layout, expansions, and future buildouts Develop systems for tracking maintenance, downtime, asset management, and inventory of critical spares Support emergency preparedness and incident response across a large‑scale site (power loss, system failures, environmental factors) Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency as the site scales Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred 7+ years of experience in facilities, site operations, or industrial/manufacturing environments, with increasing responsibility Experience supporting large, complex, or multi‑building sites (campus‑style or industrial environments preferred) Demonstrated ability to build and implement SOPs, maintenance programs, and operational processes from the ground up Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) and maintenance best practices Demonstrated operational discipline in high‑reliability environments with a focus on uptime and safety Strong understanding of workplace hazards and safety practices Proven ability to prioritize effectively across competing demands in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment Experience managing vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional stakeholders Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Ability to operate independently with high ownership and accountability Ability to support off‑hours or emergency response as needed Preferred Skills and Experience Experience standing up new facilities, greenfield sites, or major expansions Background supporting manufacturing, CNC machining, or high‑mix, low‑volume production environments Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS), asset tracking, and reliability programs Experience with infrastructure or capital projects (site development, utilities, equipment installs) Strong competency in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industrial environments Budget ownership and cost control experience Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Benefits And Perks All full‑time employees are granted meaningful long‑term equity, sharing in the company's significant growth trajectory. We offer four (4) weeks of paid time off, ten (10) company‑paid holidays, and comprehensive health benefits - including 100% employee‑covered medical and strong dependent coverage, along with dental and vision plans. We also provide paid parental leave to support growing families, a $100 monthly fitness stipend to promote health and performance, and onsite EV charging for convenience. In addition, employees enjoy perks like catered meals, company‑covered food during high‑demand periods, and a fully stocked kitchen to stay fueled throughout the day. While this position does not currently require a U.S government‑issued security clearance, it may in the near future. Therefore, the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S government‑issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
