Job Description

The Warehouse Operator plays a key role in ensuring that materials move safely and efficiently through the warehouse. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, and shipping parts according to established priorities and performance targets, while maintaining a clean and organized work area and accurately updating the inventory system.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming parts, inspect them for accuracy and quality, and enter them into the warehouse system.
• Store stock in the correct locations, ensuring items are properly labeled and organized for efficient retrieval.
• Pick and process customer orders in the correct priority sequence, following established performance targets and guidelines.
• Pack parts securely for shipment in accordance with shipping instructions to prevent damage in transit.
• Prepare and complete shipping documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Use RF scanners and related equipment to track inventory movements and confirm transactions in the system.
• Perform order quantity changes and material bin changes, ensuring all updates are accurately confirmed in the system.
• Conduct cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and help maintain reliable stock levels.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and resolve issues related to orders, inventory, or shipping.

Essential Skills

• Previous warehouse experience handling inventory, picking, shipping, and related tasks.
• Ability to obtain a forklift certification and operate warehouse equipment safely once trained.
• Proficiency using RF scanners and RF equipment for inventory tracking and order processing.
• Basic computer literacy, including the ability to work within warehouse systems and enter data accurately.
• Ability to use or learn SAP and Microsoft Office applications for inventory management and documentation.
• Capability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to follow instructions and document work clearly.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting parts, processing orders, and updating inventory records.
• Experience working with inventory control processes, including cycle counting and bin location management.
• Background in shipping operations, including packing, labeling, and preparing documentation.
• Comfort working with technology in a warehouse environment, including RF scan guns and computer-based systems.
• Willingness to complete forklift training and certification provided by the employer.
• Openness to learning new systems and procedures as warehouse processes evolve.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse setting focused on aircraft spare parts distribution, using RF scanners, RF equipment, and computer systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office for daily tasks. The work involves standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating or learning to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts once certified. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with a structured workflow and performance targets in a professional, operations-focused environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Sterling, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
