Java Architect
Must be a strong software architect that has not been too far away from the code (Java), able to work with offshore teams as well as execs to modernize a legacy mainframe application.
Team
This manager's area is 200-250 people heavily contract basis and some of these people are offshore. This resource will have an architect on the current team and will work alongside this individual.
Technical
This person should be well versed in modern system and software architecture and design with significant experience in Java, Azure, Kafka, and Mongo or other document databases. This person will be hands on designing systems that will replace our hybrid mainframe/java systems in the spaces of Fee Billing, Payment Options, and our books and records system replacement. To add, this person should be able to client out what is needed, inputs/outputs of APIs, and how/when to utilize Kafka. Mainframe would be a large plus (client recognizes this is challenging and not a must have).
Soft Skills
The ideal candidate can talk in a room of senior Java developers and be respected for their technical experience, as well as lead them through software and system design. This role will also interface directly with high level leadership and there will be some scrutiny around these systems. These systems will be highly performant and built with the technologies listed above.
