Packaging Associate

Job Details


The Packaging Associate is responsible for operating and troubleshooting packaging equipment in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. They must be able to follow production schedules and perform basic maintenance tasks, while ensuring that quality standards are met.


Key Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment according to the production schedule
• Monitor equipment and make adjustments, changeovers, and small repairs as needed
• Operate bin discharge
• Perform sanitation tasks to ensure the packaging area meets quality standards
• Complete re-work as necessary
• Maintain accurate records and logs of the packaging process, including the usage of materials and transfers of product within the RedZone system
• Perform and document in-process quality checks on representative samples periodically to ensure correct packaging
• Clean, disassemble, and reassemble line equipment to prepare for inspection or deep cleaning
• Changeover/set up machine for the next packaging run by loading product, components, printer material, etc.; adjusting settings; checking the line; and obtaining line clearance
• Follow safety procedures and policies in all job tasks
• Follow and enforce all company Good Manufacturing Practices
• Work 40 hours per week with overtime as business needs require
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
