Checker, Shipping - Fusion Furniture Plant 1

Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The shipping checker is responsible for directing, delegating and ensuring that all employees on the assigned loading crew perform their duties as described below. As necessary, the Shipping Checker must be able to perform any/all of these duties. JOB AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Required PPE:
- Must learn to read load schedule.
- Direct crew in order of finished goods to be loaded.
- Read and scan product label/tickets as brought to dock for loading.
- Coordinate loading and stacking of finished goods on trailer.
- Adjust seat count on all trailers.
- Seal trailers when load is complete.
- Keep rick sheets.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Assist others when necessary.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Who is responsible for your safety? "YOU ARE!"
- Immediately report any work related injury or illness.
- Keep the work area neat and free of hazards.
- Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Always ensure proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.
- Inspect tools and protective equipment before use.
- Learn the hazards of the equipment and procedures used on the job.
- Report any defective, malfunctioning, or suspicious tool, machine, or protective equipment immediately.
- Participate in safety training and safety meetings.
- Report any hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.
- Basic reading and writing skills required.
- Ability to read, understand and communicate the English language.
