You will spend most of your time on the road at various locations such as universities, office buildings, and other warehouses across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, assembling and installing furniture on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Receive daily assignments at the warehouse, including material lists and assembly directions, and prepare for scheduled projects.
  • Load trucks and company vehicles with all required furniture components, tools, and materials before departing for client sites.
  • Travel to client locations, primarily within Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, using company vehicles and arrive prepared to begin assembly work.
  • Unload trucks at the job site and assemble furniture according to provided instructions, blueprints, and layout requirements.
  • Install and position assembled furniture accurately at the designated work site locations, ensuring quality and safety standards.
  • Work in a variety of indoor environments such as universities, office spaces, and warehouses, adapting to site-specific conditions.
  • When scheduled to remain at the warehouse, prepare future orders, stage materials, and assist with general warehouse tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse by cleaning up work areas and materials after loading and assembly activities.
  • Use basic hand and power tools, including screwdrivers and drill guns, to complete assembly and installation tasks efficiently.
  • Read and interpret rulers, tape measures, and other measuring devices to ensure accurate cuts, placements, and alignments.
  • Follow basic blueprints, diagrams, and written directions to complete assembly work according to specifications.
  • Provide and maintain a personal set of basic hand tools (such as screwdriver, drill gun, bit set, tape measure) within the first month of employment.
  • Dress appropriately for varying conditions at build sites, including temperature changes and weather-dependent environments.
  • Work a first-shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and remain flexible to work until projects are completed, including occasional weekend work.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines in the warehouse and on client sites, ensuring safe handling of materials and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and site contacts to coordinate work, resolve issues, and complete projects on time.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience in assembly, production, or construction.
  • Hands-on experience using basic hand and power tools, including screwdrivers and drill guns.
  • Ability to read and use rulers, tape measures, and other measuring equipment accurately on the job site.
  • Capability to understand and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, and written directions.
  • Willingness and ability to work both in a warehouse and at various client sites, with approximately 75% of time spent on the road.
  • Flexibility to work a first-shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with variable start and end times and occasional weekend work.
  • Physical ability to load and unload materials, move furniture components, and work on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and placement of furniture components.
  • Reliability to start and finish each workday at the warehouse, regardless of travel requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments.
  • Experience working at multiple job sites and adapting to changing work conditions.
  • Comfort working indoors in environments that may not be temperature controlled.
  • Ability to provide a basic set of personal hand tools, including screwdriver, drill gun, bit set, and tape measure, within the first month of employment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage materials and maintain a clean work area.

Why Work Here?

You will join a team that values professionalism, reliability, and craftsmanship, offering a mix of warehouse and on-site work that keeps each day interesting and varied. Travel for work is supported with company vehicles, and any additional or overnight travel is covered, including hotel costs, with advance notice provided. The culture emphasizes responsibility, teamwork, and respect for safety and cleanliness, while providing opportunities to build practical skills in assembly, facilities support, and production environments.

Work Environment

This position is 100% indoors, split between a modern warehouse and various client facilities. The warehouse is clean, organized, and used for material storage and daily staging, though it is not temperature controlled. Employees are expected to maintain cleanliness when loading materials and completing tasks. On the road, work environments vary and can include universities, office buildings, and other warehouses, with conditions dependent on the building and weather; when it is cold outside, the build site will also be cold, so dressing appropriately for changing temperatures is important. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required to work until projects are completed and occasional weekend work. Company vehicles are used for daily travel to job sites, and overnight travel, when needed, is supported with covered lodging.
