VDC Engineer - Reality Capture

Job Description:The VDC Engineer | Reality Capture supports the planning, coordination, and execution of reality capture work across projects. This role helps turn field conditions into clear and usable data that supports safety, coordination, progress tracking, and quality. This is not a traditional project management role. This position supports field execution, financial tracking, vendor coordination, and internal program development. You will work closely with the Reality Capture Manager, project teams, and VDC to ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, and at a high level of quality.This role requires someone who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple areas of the business.To be successful in this role, you must have experience working with clear, high-quality data to support projects, delivering work on time and within budget, effectively managing vendors and equipment, and enabling teams to seamlessly incorporate reality capture into their daily workflows.Some things you can expect to do:Support the growth and adoption of Reality Capture across projectsIdentify opportunities to improve workflows and project outcomesStay up to date on tools, processes, and industry trendsCoordinate reality capture services for projects, including scope, schedule, and deliverablesSupport day-to-day execution of capture workflows in partnership with the Reality Capture ManagerReview deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with project needsSupport project teams in using captured data for coordination and decision makingEnsure proper field conditions are in place to successfully execute reality captureFollow and help improve standard workflows and processesSupport client-facing work by ensuring deliverables are clear, accurate, and usefulServe as a resource for teams and stakeholders using reality capture dataDevelop quotes for reality capture services for internal and external clientsTrack budgets, costs, and usage for reality capture workSupport invoicing and financial reportingCoordinate with third-party vendors, including scheduling, scope, and deliverablesHelp maintain a network of trusted vendorsTrack and manage reality capture equipment and inventoryEnsure tools are ready, maintained, and properly usedSupport internal systems such as the Reality Capture SharePoint siteHelp organize documentation, workflows, and training materialsTrain and support teams on reality capture tools and workflowsCreate simple guides and best practicesHelp teams build confidence using capture tools in the fieldWorking knowledge of reality capture tools and workflowsExperience with Reality Capture software such as ReCap, NavVis IVION, Trimble Field Link, DroneDeploy, OpenSpace or similarUnderstanding of laser scanning, drones, 360 capture, and roboticsFamiliar with construction drawings and coordination processesAbility to organize and manage digital dataYou will really stand out if you:Strong attention to detail and focus on qualityOrganized and able to manage multiple responsibilities at onceComfortable working across field, office, and technical environmentsClear communicator with both technical and non-technical teamsWilling to take ownership and step into different roles as neededProblem solver who looks for better and simpler ways to workEligibility:Position requires verification of employment to work in the U.S.Benefits:Competitive SalaryMedical, Dental and Vision BenefitsRetirement and Savings BenefitsFlexible Spending and Health Savings AccountsLife InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term DisabilityEducational AssistancePaid Time Off (PTO)Employee Assistance and Wellness ProgramsParenting BenefitsEmployee Discount ProgramsPet insuranceRyan Foundation – charitable matching fundsPaid Time for Volunteer EventsDisclaimer: Eligibility may vary based on factors such as role, hours worked, employment status, length of service, location, and other considerations.
