Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 13:00 - 01:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - BLS - ACLS - PALS - Emergency Room experience Description: This position is for a registered nurse in the emergency department. The unit has 12 beds and a staff of 25. During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 1 technician on duty. A clinical coordinator is available from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. On the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse and 1 RN after 1:00 AM, along with a clinical coordinator from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 unless in the Fast Track area for lower acuity cases. The department is equipped with a Glidescope, bedside ultrasound, EV1000, trauma room, and psych-safe room. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates with experience in triaging and stabilizing patients, including trauma cases, are preferred. The unit often sees a sick elderly population and occasional pediatric patients. The ideal candidate is driven, fast-paced, and outgoing. All required certifications (ACLS, PALS, BLS) must be current upon hiring. There are rotating weekends, and call shifts may be flexed based on departmental needs. Tattoos must not cover more than 50% of exposed areas, and hair color must be natural.
