Job Description

• Preparing, publishing, and evaluating content for the key communication channels of our pension funds.
• You know how to engage, activate, and retain the employer contacts of our pension funds.
• A challenging and interesting time for the pension sector: all pension funds will transition to the new pension rules no later than January 1, 2028.
• Much is changing regarding both pensions as a valuable employment benefit and pension administration.
• Since employers are in many cases the first point of contact for active pension fund participants, it is therefore extremely important to inform employers about the upcoming changes to the pension scheme.
• Employers must also take into account changes in their pension administration.
• You develop content (from a video script, invitations to our events, and a news item about changed legislation, to writing web copy).
• You simplify the complex subject of pensions for employers and their employees.
• You work closely with our colleagues from Marketing & Communication, Employer & Sector Services. If you demonstrate your fluent writing skills and creativity, you will quickly become successful in this important role within our MarCom team.
• As a Content Specialist, you are responsible for preparing, executing, and evaluating communication plans. You write and publish texts, photos, and videos, guide suppliers, and consider the best way to distribute your content to our target audiences: employer contacts of our clients (pension funds). The role consists largely of hands-on work.
• You are up to date with the latest developments in the field of communication. Driven by available data and our objectives, you develop content.

This is what you are going to do

• The Employer & Sector Services department has the primary goal for the coming period to guide employers and their employees through the new pension regulations. We do this at times relevant to them.
• We provide employers with the best possible support regarding current and future pension schemes and ensure that their employees gain control over their pension and their future financial situation.
• The current team consists of 15 colleagues (communications advisor, marketers, fellow content specialists, and an event manager), some of whom work from Amsterdam and the others from Heerlen. We are looking for temporary reinforcement.
• Someone who is driven to get up to speed quickly and is productive fast.
• In an average work week, you are primarily occupied with: Delivering client-facing content based on a content calendar co-created by you.
• You initiate, write, edit, optimize, and monitor our content for websites, emails, letters, videos, and more.
• You stay up-to-date on current events and use this as inspiration for writing articles, social media posts, and newsletters.
• You work in a data-driven manner: using testing and analytics tools, you monitor and improve content and ensure that the right message is sent at the right time. You plan and coordinate various content projects based on set objectives. In doing so, you liaise frequently between departments and keep them informed about the various projects.
• You align content with stakeholders, such as legal and pension specialists and our colleagues from Employer and Sector Services.
• You participate in agile teams, and within the MarCom team, you contribute ideas for tactical improvements to execution.

Bring this with you

• Most importantly: you love producing content and know better than anyone how to appeal to target audiences. You work efficiently and accurately. You enjoy working in a team, but you are certainly independent as well.
• To make a successful start in this position, you bring: A completed relevant HBO (higher professional education) degree, for example in communication, marketing, digital media, or journalism.
• At least five years of relevant work experience as a content specialist, (web) editor, or copywriter at a larger, complex organization or marketing and communication agencies.
• You possess creativity and know how to inspire your target audience with engaging (online) content using a fluent writing style.
• You have extensive experience with CMS and e-mailing systems (Adobe Experience Manager and Microsoft Dynamics are a plus, but not a must).
• You are proactive and connect various internal stakeholders.
• You have persuasive power: you keep your goal and the target audience in mind during meetings with various stakeholders and can bring them along in your story.
