Registered Nurse (RN) - Staff Development, Training & Employee Health

Job Description St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s Behavioral Health Resource Team provides care to patients with complex behavioral health needs in a non-behavioral health setting throughout the hospital. They work closely within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to ensure patients receive high-quality care to meet their physical, emotional, and mental health needs. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, administering medication, monitoring patient progress, and providing emotional support to patients and families. Job Details 36 hours per week 12‑hour night shifts with holiday rotation every 3rd weekend Sign‑on bonus eligible – up to $15,000 Benefit eligible BJC RN Career Ladder – opportunities for advancement and salary increases aligned with ladder levels Preferred Requirements Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Behavioral Health. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engage in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patients, families, or caregivers. Proactively plan and ensure communication of the care plan across the continuum of care. Apply critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs. Work in a constant state of alertness and maintain a safe environment as a safety‑sensitive position.
