Certified Medical Assistant – Family Care 18143 Location: 2660 Scripture, Ste 120, Denton, 76201 Work hours: Monday – Thursday 7:45am to 5:00pm, Friday 7:45am to 5:00pm (possible early time to arrive at 7:00am some days—not mandatory) Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 (eligible new hires) Department Highlights Busy, well established practice with 3 providers, strong reputation for quality patient care. Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Experience 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (Preferred) At least 3 months in a clinical setting (Highly Preferred) Licenses and Certifications CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (Required) ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Preferred) BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (Highly Preferred) What You Will Do Under the direction of the health care provider, responsible for delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well‑being of all patients. Accurately perform preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse and respiration and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols. Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures. Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider. Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem. Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration. Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKGs. Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion of testing. Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider. Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly. Escalate non‑routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s). Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required. Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights. May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
