Commercial Lines Account Manager [Remote]

Our client, a small-town insurance agency emphasizing work-life balance and a family-oriented culture, is seeking a   Commercial Lines Account Manager . This role provides the opportunity to manage a commercial book of business independently while being part of a collaborative and supportive team.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in commercial lines insurance and a strong service orientation. While much of the role is focused on account servicing, responsibilities also include handling inbound calls, referral business, and cross-selling or up-selling opportunities. There is no outbound marketing, cold calling, or prospecting. For the right candidate, this position can be fully remote but is limited to residents of Oregon, with a preference for those near La Pine, OR.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a commercial book of business, including:
  • Setting pre-renewal meetings and facilitating policy reviews.
  • Making policy changes, completing Acord forms, and processing certificates and endorsements.
  • Binding coverages, marketing new business, and re-marketing existing accounts with carriers.
• Handle inbound calls and work with referral business to create quotes and close new business.
• Share the workload of servicing the entire agency book, not tied to a specific producer or book.
• Maintain a 90% retention rate through excellent service and support.
• Work with surplus lines accounts as needed (experience in surplus lines is a plus).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial lines experience with an independent agency.
• Proficiency in managing accounts, including policy reviews, marketing, and processing policy updates.
• Experience with AMS 360 is preferred.
• Familiarity with surplus lines is a bonus but not required.
• Must reside in Oregon, with a preference for candidates near La Pine, OR. Remote work is an option for the right candidate.
