Behavioral Health Technician

Northstar Behavioral Health Network seeks a PT/On-call Behavioral Health Technician to support adults in residential and outpatient substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment. In this role, you will monitor client safety, support daily routines, document behavioral observations, and assist with groups and milieu management. Working in a trauma-informed, person-centered environment, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, gain experience with complex co-occurring disorders, and receive ongoing training and supervision to grow your skills and advance your behavioral health career. Responsibilities Provide direct support and supervision to clients in residential and outpatient substance use treatment programs Monitor client safety, behavior, and adherence to treatment plans and program rules Assist with daily living activities, group schedules, and milieu management in a structured setting Document observations, client interactions, and incidents in accordance with program and regulatory standards Support trauma-informed, person-centered interventions under clinical direction Assist with admissions, orientations, and discharges as needed Respond calmly and effectively to crises or behavioral escalations, following safety protocols Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and case managers to support individualized care plans Model and encourage recovery-oriented, respectful, and accountable behavior Participate in required trainings, supervision, and team meetings to maintain best practices Client observation and monitoring Behavioral health documentation Crisis de-escalation techniques Milieu management Trauma-informed care practices Basic motivational interviewing Knowledge of substance use disorders Co-occurring mental health awareness Electronic health record (EHR) use Safety and incident reporting Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Qualifications Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred Mental Health Technician or Behavioral Health Technician certification preferred Crisis Prevention/Intervention training (e.g., CPI) preferred CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable within hire timeline #J-18808-Ljbffr
