Senior Systems Engineer Why This is an Exciting Role Derive an understanding of system requirements from stakeholder needs Responsible for end-to-end development environments Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository Apply system engineering principles in the development of system requirements, functional requirements and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components What Makes BI&A Different Our talented employees bring software development, systems engineering, and advanced analytics expertise. Experience and Qualifications Required Years of Experience and Education Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Required Qualifications An active TS/SCI with active polygraph Providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting system requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and perform technical assessment Developing system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents Conducting and/or approving end‑to‑end system trade analyses optimizing system operations over its life‑cycle Developing system design alternatives considering life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion, and growth Developing alternative courses of action, workarounds, and fall‑back positions with recommended course of action for each risk, and monitor and re‑evaluate risks at appropriate milestones Improving standard integration strategies based upon rational for previous decisions that resulted in improved integration performance Fully defining interfaces in terms of origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics for software Desired Qualifications Experience as an Agile SCRUM Master Experience working in an Agile software development environment Experience generating technical documentation Experience using with Jira and Confluence Telework/Remote Availability Hybrid work authorized, up to 16-hours per week (depending on team and workflow) Work Location(s) Annapolis Junction, MD Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only.
