Position Overview: The Teletech functions under the direction of the professional nurse. The Teletech is responsible for cardiac monitor observation and reporting of cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff for further investigation when indicated. The Teletech will demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age of the patients served. Demonstration of knowledge will include principles of growth and development and interpretation of information and data to identify the patient’s cardiac monitoring needs. Responsible for applying skills and techniques common to the practice of a telemetry technician. Specifics: Position: Telemetry Monitor Tech Department: ICU Location: Gateway Regional Medical Center 2100 Madison Ave. Granite City, IL 62040 Position Status: Full-time Work Schedule: Nights, 7pm-7am 36hrs/wk Education Qualifications: Required: High School graduate or equivalent Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant Certification Qualifications: Required: Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification Required: Gateway Regional Medical Center will provide basic dysrhythmia training; successful completion of this training is required Experience Qualifications: Previous experience preferred New Graduates welcome Company Benefits: Competitive salary and performance-based incentives Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
