Interventional Technologist I

Local candidates will not be considered. Applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position. Job Summary :
The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor and treat simple to complex conditions, defects and/or diseases without surgery. This position is intended for those who are gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or are experienced Imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in the discipline. Job Responsibilities :
-Assists Providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures including but not limited to cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization and pain management.
-Utilizes a variety of highly specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional and/or invasive procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
-Ensures procedures are performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus centric care.
-Assists in preparing patients for on patient procedures and providing comfort.
-Acts as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures
-Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols.
-Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, provides clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines.
-Collaborates with team members across facility including Providers to provide exceptional patient care.
-Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards.
-Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician.
-Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines.
-Assists with quality assurance, audits and performance improvement tasks as requested.
-Provides on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned.
-May support facility academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program.
-May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members.
-Assists with onboarding of new team members.
-Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience :
-NO Travel or Trauma required
-Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, positioning of patients and medical ethics.
-Applies core knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures.
-Demonstrates ability and skill to apply theory, practices and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze and annotate study data or procedure documentation.
-Applies knowledge of sterile fields consistently ensuring a safe environment for the patient.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served.
-Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards.
-Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments.
-Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
-Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others.
-Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled.
-Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.
-Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. Required Education :
-A graduate of post-secondary educational program in health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, or paramedic/EMT) as defined by ARRT or CCI.
-Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements. Required Certifications & Licensure :
-BLS / ACLS required
- ARRT (RT) Required
-Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon
hire.
-ARRT(RT), RCES or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire.
