Senior Software Engineer, Predictions Mobile

Salary: $140,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years building production mobile apps with React Native.
• We require strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• We need deep knowledge of React Native internals, including bridging, native modules, performance tuning, and debugging.
• We are looking for experience building real-time, data-heavy user interfaces such as trading screens, dashboards, or live feeds.
• We value a strong sense for UX and UI, with a history of influencing design and product decisions rather than only implementing specifications.
• We require expertise in unit and integration testing for mobile applications.
• We need comfort working in a regulated environment where changes must be rigorous and auditable.
• Preferred: experience with financial or trading applications, including order books, charting, and position management.
• Preferred: familiarity with Expo, EAS, and OTA update strategies.
• Preferred: experience authoring native modules in Swift or Kotlin, or embedding SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose through Expo Modules API.
• Preferred: exposure to gRPC, WebSockets, or similar real-time transport protocols.
• Preferred: experience with performance analysis tools such as Flipper, React DevTools Profiler, or native instrumentation.
• Preferred: prior work in fintech, exchange, or other regulated product environments.

• We own and continuously improve the Predictions mobile trading experience end to end, including market browsing, order placement, portfolio views, and settlement flows.
• We design high-performance, real-time interfaces for streaming market data such as order books, price charts, and position P&L using modern React Native patterns.
• We collaborate with backend engineers on gRPC and WebSocket integrations that support live trading functionality.
• We build reusable, well-tested UI components for use across Predictions and the broader Gemini mobile app.
• We partner with product and design to shape mobile-first UX for new contract categories and features such as combo and range contracts.
• We independently scope and deliver solutions, making informed architecture tradeoffs between native and JavaScript boundaries.
• We help define and improve mobile development practices, including testing strategy, release quality standards, and OTA versus native release decisions.
• We perform thorough code reviews and mentor other engineers on React Native best practices.
• We use analytics and experimentation insights to guide decisions around activation funnels, onboarding, and trading engagement.
