We currently seek to fill the role of Assembler to machine component parts to pre‑determined dimensions and tolerances while staying within assigned router hours, all while advancing KBC’s mission of being a forward‑thinking, collaborative, and ethical business. Hours of work are M-TH 6 AM to 4:30 PM with approved overtime as needed. Responsibilities Drills, taps, reams, chases, and cleans holes. Deburrs small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts. Aligns components and fastens them together. Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement. Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems. Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears. Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product. Plans assembly procedures and methods to assure efficient and timely progress. Inspects parts for proper machining finish and dimensions; check and test subassemblies and units. Works from complicated and detailed drawings, specifications, and assembly drawings. Keep a safe and clean work area, including machinery, tools and equipment, and the shop area in general. May perform other duties as needed, such as blasting and painting component parts or assemblies. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to read precision measuring instruments. Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment. Demonstrates KBC values of personal accountability, discipline, trust, and proactive action. High school diploma or general education degree (GED required). This position requires the knowledge of standard tools, materials methods, and practices required in assembling product. Also required is the ability to read and interpret blueprints, read precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers, tape measures, etc.), and operate a forklift and overhead crane. Must be able to read and write simple correspondence. Should have the ability to maintain machinery, equipment, and tools used in assembly. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally; anything over 50 pounds requires two people, or the use of a lifting device.
