See Boston Engineering in action: Learn how our engineers applied first-principles thinking and reverse engineering to develop BIOSwimmer, an autonomous underwater robotic fish.️ WATCH: How Reverse Engineering Propels BIOSwimmer – The Robotic FishJob DescriptionAbility to: Designing, developing, and maintaining embedded systems for hardware control, sensing, and human interface Collaborating with hardware and software teams to integrate embedded systems into larger product architectures Conducting system-level testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of embedded systems and control solutions Working with sensor systems, communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN), and embedded peripherals Documenting system specifications, design procedures, and testing protocols. Ensuring compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and quality assurance procedures in product development Experience with the following is a plus: Electronics design and development Embedded C/C++ programming languages for microcontrollers and processors Communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN Hardware-software integration and debugging of embedded systems Optional Skills:  Experience with FPGA programming in Verilog of VHDL Experience with wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) Control systems design, including motor control, PID loops, and sensor integration Knowledge of Python and/or MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and testQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a proactive and solution-oriented approach Why Join Us:Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and innovative projects Collaborative and dynamic team environment Professional development and growth opportunities Additional InformationThis role is restricted to US persons (i.e., US citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 USC 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
