Physician - Hematology/Oncology

Job Title
This board-certified Hematologist/Oncologist will be treating patients with general hematologic and neoplastic diseases.
Duties
Work activities may involve:
- Preparing and interpreting blood and bone marrow samples
- Analyzing blood samples using computer-aided and manual techniques
- Reviewing initial data that may reveal abnormalities in white or red blood cells, platelets or clotting factors
- Deciding on additional hematologic testing
- Prescribing treatment for individual patients
- Assisting colleagues in the interpretation of hematologic test results
- Selecting appropriate techniques for different types of hematological analysis
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team that may include bone marrow transplantation specialists, hematologic subspecialists, or hematopathologists
- Teaching or training medical students, residents and other hospital staff
- Providing education and counseling to patients
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Work Schedule: 8:00a to 4:30pm (20 hours), Monday through Friday; however, weekend and evening hours may occur when Veteran needs arise.
