Concrete Finisher

Duties/Responsibilities Responsible for the smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs, using a variety of hand and power tools. Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints. Placing and finishing of horizontal concrete. Vibration, strike‑off, floating, and finishing of concrete using a walk‑behind trowel or a riding trowel. Some broom finish. Curing of concrete using curing compounds or wet curing methods. Use of highway straightedge, straightedge, jointers and edgers. Removing edges on expansion joints and sides. Signaling truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms. Pour, level, and smooth concrete on a variety of surfaces including roads, sidewalks, curbs, and floors. Required Skills/Abilities Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and foremen. Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours. Ability to kneel for long periods. Knowledge of hand‑held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools. Education and Experience Minimum of 2 years experience as a Finisher Helper. Must be at least 18 years old. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods standing and working outside. A lot of night work and traveling is involved. Repeated standing, bending, pushing and pulling for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day. Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
