Job Title: Mechanic Job Description

This role focuses on teardown, testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of boom lift equipment and related machinery. You will support multiple production departments and line assemblers by applying your advanced mechanical experience. Most work involves mechanical assembly, with some light electrical tasks such as installing wiring and electrical systems. You will contribute to building high-quality aerial work platforms, telehandlers, and lift equipment while ensuring all components function safely and reliably.

• Perform teardown, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of boom lift and related equipment.
• Assemble boom lifts, telehandlers, and aerial work platform equipment using hand and power tools.
• Install and assemble hydraulic hoses, fittings, and hydraulic systems according to specifications.
• Assemble structural components including chassis, booms, platforms, frames, axles, and outriggers.
• Install mechanical components such as engines, gearboxes, drive motors, steering systems, and braking systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics to complete assemblies accurately.
• Install various equipment accessories including decals, mud flaps, cameras, and lights.
• Verify proper fit, alignment, and functionality of assembled components and systems.
• Perform torqueing, fastening, and installation of mechanical assemblies following specified torque values and procedures.
• Route and secure hydraulic lines, wiring harnesses, and mechanical components to ensure safe, clean, and serviceable installations.
• Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and rework of completed assemblies to resolve mechanical, hydraulic, or minor electrical issues.
• Use basic computer tools, such as an iPad or laptop, to input findings and follow user-friendly programs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with line assemblers and other team members to support production needs and maintain workflow.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in an open-air shop environment.
• Learn to drive and operate a forklift to move parts, materials, and equipment as required.

• 3+ years of experience in heavy mechanical assembly or in a mechanic role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use an iPad or laptop to record findings and follow digital work instructions.
• Basic understanding and usage of diagnostic tools such as multimeters, pressure testers, and analyzers.
• Ability and willingness to learn to drive and use a forklift.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, repair, hydraulics, production work, teardown, mechanical troubleshooting, and mechanical repair.
• Ability to work overtime as needed to support production demands.

• Basic knowledge of DC electricity.
• Experience assembling heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, trucks, or industrial machinery.
• Hydraulic assembly experience, including routing and connecting hydraulic lines and components.
• Background in mechanical, automotive, diesel, or industrial maintenance.
• Comfort working with boom lifts, telehandlers, and aerial work platforms.
• Ability to verify fit, alignment, and function of complex mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Work takes place in an open-air shop environment focused on production of lift and heavy equipment. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with candidates expected to be available for overtime as business needs arise, typically 10–12 hours per week. Overtime commonly extends the workday until 4:30 p.m., and mandatory Saturdays and/or Sundays may be required depending on production demands, usually from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will regularly use hand tools, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, power tools, hydraulic equipment, and diagnostic devices such as multimeters and pressure testers, as well as computers, tablets, and forklifts in a busy, hands-on production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.65/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Houston,TX.
