Director of Information Technology

Reports to the Executive Director of Finance Job Summary The Director of IT will be responsible for leading a team to improve operational performance, support and enhance capability, and deliver and maintain technological systems in our manufacturing facility. The Director of IT is a hands‑on leader/driver, responsible for the strategy, planning and successful execution of all information technology goals, capabilities and initiatives that support Cloverdale’s business goals and objectives. This leader collaborates with clients and colleagues at all levels of the organization to understand business needs and align technology services and solutions to those needs. The Director will manage a team of IT professionals and numerous outside providers and be responsible for the architecture, availability, scalability, resiliency, security, efficiency and continuity of all technological environments, services and support. This position will lead major technology‑based initiatives and Cloverdale’s effort to incorporate more technology‑enabled solutions. Office Environment: 90% of the work is conducted in an office setting, involving time spent on computer research, project management, and communication with team members and stakeholders. Frequent participation in both in‑person and virtual meetings, including project updates, strategy sessions, and presentations to management and stakeholders. Production Environment: 5% Regular visits to the production areas will involve exposure to machinery, noise, varying temperatures, humidity, and wet conditions. Travel: 5% Occasional travel for training, meetings, conferences, etc. Schedule: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage and direct all technology resources, initiatives and investments towards Cloverdale’s goals and objectives. Provide leadership and management of staff in areas to include all supervision, performance management, career development, and all other personnel‑related functions. Ensure that all initiatives in the IT portfolio have clear business goals and successful metrics. Direct the technology strategy and architecture in partnership with outside partners. Oversee IT security and compliance policy, procedures, and execution of initiatives that allow for the effective and efficient operation of Cloverdale’s business and continued positive client relationships. Evaluate and lead the business through the re‑architecting of core technology‑enabled processes and systems to enable greater effectiveness and efficiency in collaboration with employees at every level of the organization. Negotiate and manage relationships and contracts with outside technology providers and consultants. Develop, plan, and implement information and operations technology systems, including IT and network infrastructure, controls and automation systems, and integration of existing and new technologies. Provide leadership in troubleshooting and root cause analysis to effectively resolve issues and deliver sustainable solutions while enhancing resource capability. Provide project management leadership including requirements gathering, project development, vendor management, proposal development and review, effective planning and execution, on time, in scope, and on budget. Facilitate and support the numerous manufacturing processes and control systems within Operations, collaborating with Engineering, IT, Operations, and Corporate management and vendor resources. Produce an annual IT plan and budget that is integrated into Cloverdale’s business planning and budgeting processes. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related field from an accredited institution is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred. 5 years’ experience directing IT strategy and oversight of multiple technology functions, departments, and initiatives. 2 years’ experience managing and supporting systems integration, project and varied plant experience. PMP certification is preferred. Track record of strong people/team development and leadership. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization. Ability to consistently meet deadlines and see projects through completion. Experience developing and managing project plans, departmental and project budgets, and requests for capital. Successful track record leading and driving organizational change, including business processes that are dependent on enabling tools and technologies. Experience architecting and deploying a technology ecosystem utilizing on‑premises, cloud‑based, hosted, and SaaS environments. Highly effective client engagement skills and ability to understand and efficiently address needs. Demonstrated business savvy to work effectively with other leaders to achieve key business and technology goals. Expertise in managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Direct experience managing information security requirements. Exposure to ISO 27001 compliance is preferred. Advanced practitioner of Microsoft Office; particularly Excel and Power Point. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Visits to production areas will involve exposure to machinery, high noise levels, varying temperatures, humidity, and wet conditions. Must be comfortable sharing office space with other professionals and performing repetitive, computer‑based tasks. This includes extended periods of sitting, reaching with hands and arms, and using input devices such as a keyboard, mouse, and other tools. The role requires maintaining focus on detailed screen work for prolonged durations, including tasks such as data analysis, report preparation, and troubleshooting operational issues. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, and bend for extended periods. Must be able to communicate through various channels, including phone, email, face‑to‑face, and videoconferencing, effectively building and presenting organized data and plans to executive leadership, internal and external groups of various sizes, and key stakeholders. At Cloverdale Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $120,000 – $140,000 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job‑related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
