We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Expert / Software Engineer to join our team. If you're passionate about Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Agentic AI technologies, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain applications that generate code, pipelines, and web applications via prompt-based interfaces Experiment with and implement advanced LLM and Agentic AI technologies to enhance application capabilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate adoption of AI-driven software creation tools Ensure compliance with Duke Energy’s AI policies Stay current with advancements in Gen AI, LLMs, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy Provide technical mentorship to junior team members Required Qualifications Hands-on experience with Agentic AI technologies Familiarity with tools such as AWS Agentcore, Azure Foundry (Azure AI Studio), or similar platforms Proficiency with Gen AI tools such as Claude, OpenAI GPT, GitHub Copilot (non-exhaustive) Experience developing Gen AI applications within large organizations Strong software engineering background Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or 8 years of equivalent work experience 2–3 years of hands-on experience implementing Generative AI solutions 4–5 years of software engineering experience Preferred Qualifications Strong background in AI and machine learning Experience with Agentic AI technologies and applications Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools Passion for researching and staying up-to-date with Gen AI products and LLMs Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, React, and Angular Solid understanding of the AWS platform Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range. W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pretax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
