If you thrive at the intersection of deep technical science, collaborative problem-solving, and pioneering innovation, find your future with us.The ideal candidate will have the exceptional ability to effectively communicate complex scientific risks and regulations to both executive stakeholders and lab researchersPosition Responsibilities:Evaluate Cutting-Edge Risks: Conduct qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene surveys to evaluate unique and evolving occupational exposures to chemical, physical, and biological hazardsChampion Chemical Safety: Provide strategic and technical oversight for complex chemical safety programs, ensuring safe storage, handling, and ventilation of novel research materialsPartner with Innovators: Collaborate directly with engineering, manufacturing, research, and design teams to integrate engineering controls into newly developed lab processesManage Specialized IH Programs: Lead and audit foundational health programs tailored to a lab environment, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, and Laser/Radiation safetyAnalyze and Interpret Data: Oversee exposure monitoring equipment, interpret complex analytical lab results, and draft impactful technical summaries detailing risk and mitigation plansBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety related field (Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Toxicology, Bio-Engineering, Public Health, etc.)3+ years of experience performing Occupational Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene duties in an industrial environment3+ years of experience performing health and safety risk assessments, developing and managing safety programs, and performing auditPreferred QualificationsCertified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation or actively working toward itExperience managing nanomaterials, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), or exotic aerospace chemical alloysUnderstanding of OSHA regulations, ACGIH TLVs, and modern occupational health standardsConflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
