About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to serve as its senior philanthropy executive and a key member of the Executive Team. The CAO will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive advancement strategy that accelerates philanthropic revenue, diversifies private funding sources, and strengthens the organization's long-term financial sustainability. This role involves serving as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, aligning philanthropy with the organization's mission and vision for community impact, and providing executive leadership for all advancement functions. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a high-performing Advancement team, cultivate relationships with donors and strategic partners, and ensure the organization's brand is strengthened through innovation, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and a minimum of 10 years' of leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising or advancement. The role requires a proven track record in securing and stewarding significant gifts, increasing philanthropic revenue, and diversifying funding sources. Experience in human services, healthcare, or a mission-driven nonprofit organization is preferred, as is a background in leading capital campaigns and planned giving programs. The ideal candidate will have exceptional relationship-building, communication, and strategic leadership skills, and be adept at fostering a culture of philanthropy both within the organization and in the community. The CAO will also be responsible for ensuring best-in-class advancement operations, including CRM management, fundraising analytics, and performance measurement, to support sustainable fundraising growth and operational excellence.
