Position Summary

The Parking Associate delivers Colonial Parking’s standards of customer service during each customer transaction while helping maintain an efficient flow of traffic into and out of the parking facility. The position supports the Shift Manager with daily operations, assists customers, receives parking payments when assigned, and helps ensure safe and orderly facility operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service & Parking Operations

• Provide the company’s established customer service standards, including professional uniform appearance, the company greeting, answering customer questions, resolving concerns, and thanking each customer upon exit.
• Assist the Shift Manager with the daily operation of the assigned parking facility and help maintain an acceptable flow of traffic through facility gates.
• Assist with parking transactions and receiving parking payments as assigned.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous approach when interacting with customers and employees.
• Report to work on time and ready to perform assigned duties.

Facility Support, Incident Reporting & Compliance

• Keep the parking facility stocked with necessary forms and supplies.
• Complete customer damage reports with the customer and, with assistance from the Shift Manager, relay required claims information to the Claims Department.
• Notify management promptly of conditions, incidents, or other situations that require attention.
• Assist with incoming customer calls and customer service associate duties as needed.
• Review, understand, and acknowledge company policies and procedures applicable to assigned duties when requested.

Additional Responsibilities

• Complete minor cleaning or maintenance tasks in accordance with company maintenance checklists when requested by management.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to read and understand verbal instructions and written correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when working with employees and parking customers.
• Ability to resolve customer concerns in a professional, courteous manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in the service industry is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Performance Standards

This position receives an annual performance review from the direct supervisor to assess performance against company expectations and agreed-upon job-related goals for the coming year.

• Stand, walk, and sit for varying periods while performing parking facility and customer service duties.

Work Environment

Work is performed in parking facilities and may involve exposure to prevailing weather conditions, fumes, and airborne particles. Noise levels may range from minimal to moderate.

Regular contact with customers, vendors, and property management or client representatives.
