The overall function of this position is to provide DOTD with well-trained, government-certified herbicide applicators to be utilized throughout the state in the proper application of a variety of chemicals within a wide range of geographic landscapes in assigned parish(es) of Louisiana.

Job Duties:
- Operate spray truck or other spray equipment (may have GPS navigation system) to maintain roadside vegetation along state highway
- Responsible for measuring/mixing proper amounts of appropriate herbicides as needed.
- Operate power and hand tools in the removal of trees, tree branches and other vegetation that may be causing obstruction for motorist.
- May be required to perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
- Requires a Louisiana Class "A" CDL License and current Herbicide Equipment Applicator License issued by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture before appointment.
- Requires random drug testing.
- Required to work in all types of inclement weather and conditions.
