YOU WILL BE As a Tailor, you will conduct alterations, resizing, and restyling of all merchandise retailed in Neiman Marcus stores. You will assist fitters in achieving their goals with professional assistance in fit, alterability, and structural quality of apparel merchandise. WHAT YOU WILL DO Alter constructed garments to meet the standard of quality set by Neiman Marcus equal to or better than the original construction Alter seams vented or unvented, take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders Rotate sleeves and shorten sleeves Shorten back, shorten collar, and square shoulders Shorten coat, re‑line coat, or remake interior or exterior pockets Operate and maintain all sewing equipment Self‑inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met Complete alterations and assigned tasks as directed by Supervisor/Lead Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead WHAT YOU WILL BRING Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and types of fabrics, is preferred Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure YOUR LIFE AND CAREER AT NEIMAN MARCUS Opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment at a company experiencing growth and transformation Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities across the largest multi‑brand luxury retailer from retail to distribution, to digital or corporate Comprehensive benefits package for all eligible full‑time employees (including medical, vision and dental) An amazing employee discount SALARY AND OTHER BENEFITS Salary Range: $29.48 - $36.86* (actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience and other job‑related factors) Benefits: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, basic life insurance, supplemental life insurance, disability insurance, and a variety of additional voluntary benefits (such as critical illness, hospital and accident insurance).
