Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact supporting students’ well-being as a Mental Health Counselor for grades 5-6 in a school-based setting near Lapeer, MI. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work directly with students, utilizing your expertise as a mental health professional during the upcoming school year. The assignment is full-time, covering 37.5 hours per week, with school hours scheduled from 7am to 3pm.

Required Qualifications:

• Hold one of the following credentials, fully licensed in Michigan (no limited/supervised licenses):
  • Master’s level psychologist (state license)
  • MDE credentialed master’s level school psychologist
  • Master’s level social worker (state license)
  • Master’s level school social worker (state license)
  • Master’s level professional counselor (state license)
• Experience or confidence working with students in grades 5-6 preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to provide evidence-based interventions and collaborate with educational teams
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism within the school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct counseling services, mental health support, and crisis intervention for students
• Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized support plans as needed
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to promote positive student outcomes
• Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to ethical standards in school mental health
• Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive school culture
