Position Overview The Billing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of an assigned billing team while managing complex billing matters for a portfolio of attorneys. This individual will ensure billing accuracy, monitor workloads, support staff development, and help drive operational excellence across the department. This is a highly collaborative leadership role that requires both strong technical billing expertise and the ability to foster positive working relationships across the organization. Key Responsibilities Billing Operations Oversee the day‑to‑day workflow of an assigned billing team, ensuring work is completed accurately and within established deadlines Manage complex billing responsibilities for an assigned portfolio of attorneys, including preparation, review, and processing of prebills and invoices Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and internal billing procedures Review billing adjustments, transfers, write-offs, and related billing activity Generate reports and assist with month‑end billing activities Provide guidance, coaching, and day‑to‑day support to billing professionals Assist with training and onboarding of new team members Monitor workloads and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and service levels Support performance management by providing feedback and contributing to employee evaluations Promote knowledge sharing and consistency across the billing team Client & Attorney Support Partner with attorneys and administrative staff to resolve billing questions and invoice issues Collaborate with eBilling specialists to resolve electronic billing challenges Serve as a trusted resource for billing policies, procedures, and best practices Maintain strong working relationships through responsive, high‑quality service Process Improvement Assist in documenting billing procedures and identifying opportunities for operational improvements Participate in departmental initiatives to improve billing accuracy, efficiency, and client service Help ensure compliance with accounting controls and organizational policies Qualifications Experience 7+ years of legal billing experience Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience using Elite 3E (required) Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred Education Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field Technical Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency Strong knowledge of legal billing systems, billing workflows, and eBilling processes Experience with Elite 3E required Core Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills Strong organizational and time‑management abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment Proven leadership and mentoring abilities Strong customer service mindset and collaborative approach Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive financial information Why This Opportunity?
