Travel RN - Operating Room/Surgery

Join our team as a Travel RN in the Operating Room/Surgery department. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your surgical nursing skills in a dynamic clinical environment. The position requires providing routine and complex patient care, demonstrating independence, and exhibiting awareness of all relevant clinical aspects. You'll be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient responses, documenting care, and educating patients and their families.

Work Schedule:

• Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Call Requirement: One weekend per month (approximately 7 days per month)
• Start Date: 05/11/2026
• Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care based on ANA Scope and Standards of Practice using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following proper protocols, monitor side effects, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to care team members to manage clinical situations effectively.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities aligning with OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: At least 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS certification (AHA only), RN License in Texas or a valid compact license.
