Georgia Highways Market Sector Lead

Georgia Highways Market Sector Lead – a position focused on business development and project delivery for highways and roads in Georgia, building on established relationships with GDOT and statewide municipalities and counties. Responsibilities Promote and deliver HDR services to clients within Georgia in partnership with client and project managers. Collaborate with the Area Business Group Manager to develop and execute market sector initiatives. Lead client development and pursuit processes using proven capture techniques. Support selected Georgia pursuits through relationship development, strategy and participation in pursuit activities. Represent HDR in industry associations, business and community organizations. Monitor marketing capabilities and provide market sector support to achieve GA area goals. Build relationships with industry counterparts in other consulting organizations. Develop relationships with senior leadership in key client organizations. Assist in identifying and recruiting prospective future market sector employees. Track market sector performance indicators (NFE/NFB/profits/positive equity/AR/losses/investments). Integrate local business development plans and implement contact strategies for GDOT and statewide agencies. Pursue work locally and nationally, including larger complex projects. Mentor, train, and review quality of local staff on area projects. Integrate into local project work and align market sector initiatives and strategies. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years in transportation and/or engineering with the majority in the market sector. If an engineer, maintaining engineering registration. Experience managing strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services. Experience with a wide range of client relationships and program/project pursuits. Experience in staff development, recruiting, career path and professional growth. Active involvement in industry associations with a visible market sector profile. Cooperative working with Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers. Demonstrated commitment to HDR values. Local Georgia candidates preferred. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 10+ years of related experience. Minimum of 5 years of project management experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software. Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal). Commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
