Certified Medical Assistant for Patient Care Team

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant for our Patient Care Team. This position requires work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday. Responsibilities Provide patient support to the physicians, APPs and management for continuity of care to the patients of CTHC. Answer the backline for incoming calls from hospital, pharmacy, and/or other physicians. Assist the patient with questions pertaining to medications, refills, appointments, referrals, and overall health questions that are within your scope of practice as a CMA. Create, process and complete patient communications utilizing the telephone encounter (TE) function in eCW. Return all tasks, voicemails, emails and other patient communication tools used by CTHC, in a timely manner by CTHC guidelines: Within 48 hours and communicate any delays to sender/receiver via phone call, email, or patient portal. Assigning incoming nurse emails to the appropriate team member. This is a shared responsibility with the PCT, the float MA and the procedure MA. Administer injections as per protocol. Assist and process specialty and procedure referrals (including patient orders), respond to urgent internal teams messaging. Complete Cardiac Clearance requests and coordinate the assistance from the provider to complete the forms. Complete FMLA and disability forms as requested by patient and coordinate the assistance from the provider. Perform clinical walk in visits for BP checks, injections, site checks, medication questions & ask for assistance when needed. The floor MAs can provide assistance to the PCC when necessary. Place monitors on patients and register the device. Upload monitor reports into the patients chart. Works collaboratively with clinical staff on programs to improve patient outcomes. Assists in organizing and participating in quality improvement activities with the goal of improving systems/services. Perform other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by the supervisor or management. Provide backup for floor medical assistants and other support staff when no other resources are available. Assist with other administrative projects and tasks as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management, administration or providers. Minimum Position Requirements Candidate must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a minimum of 2 years working in a medical office or multi-physician practice. Only qualified candidates will be considered. Education & Experience College education, high school diploma, or equivalent. Completion of Medical Assistant training program with a certification required. Working knowledge of medical terminology and experience in EHR systems. Expectations Attendance and punctuality are necessary and expected. Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to problem solve and be self-motivated with the ability to take direction from providers and management. Must have a commitment to excellence and high standards in patient care. Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Must have ability to multitask, manage priorities and workflow. Required to have versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and have acute attention to detail. Able to operate computer software with training. Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Required to have the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels and with external customers. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to operate office equipment, including computer and copier/scanner equipment. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, with occasional walking, and the ability to wear a phone headset. Ability to bend and lift up to 25 pounds. Hearing and vision required.
