Come join our Dining Services Team. Penick Village, Inc. Continuing Care Retirement Community is looking for a Dishwasher/Steward to support delivery of fast paced customer focused dining service to Residents and guests, at all levels of care. The Dishwasher/Steward is vital to delivering service excellence. This position is responsible for cleaning the dishes and utensils customers use, removes trash, as well as cleans food preparation areas. Work extends beyond cleaning dishes and putting them away. It requires working collaboratively and proactively with dining team members. If you meet key attributes of this role, please reply to be considered. Primary Responsibility: The Dishwasher/Steward delivers dependable, courteous, customer centered support for delivery of fast-paced client-driven dining service to Residents and guests, at all levels of care. The Dishwasher/Steward is vital to delivering service excellence. This position is responsible for cleaning the dishes and utensils customers use, as well as making sure the kitchen's food preparation supplies are clean. Work extends beyond cleaning dishes and putting them away. It requires working collaboratively and proactively with dining team members. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Report to kitchen in clean uniform ready for work.
Take resident carts to assigned areas at assigned times. Deliver to-go items as assigned. Sweep, scrub, mop all floors at assigned times.
Retrieve all resident carts at assigned times.
Break down carts and wash all dishes, glasses, silverware, and trays at assigned times.
Restock clean dishes to assigned staging areas at assigned times.
Clean filters in dish machine, set up dish room for next meal.
Break down and clean the dish machine, clean filters, drain machine, wipe down all counters and tables in dish room.
Remove all trash and debris from the dining, kitchen, and service areas. Breakdown all boxes to fit in dumpsters. Complete daily and weekly cleaning task as assigned. Perform other tasks as assigned by managers. Inform the supervisor or manager at the end of your shift so they can check your work area before lunch and before you clock out at the end of your shift. Job Requirements: Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative environment. Must possess and demonstrate personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, goals, and values of Penick Village. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must display professionalism in both appearance and attitude. Must possess the ability to solve problems and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agency personnel and the public. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to manage difficult personnel. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices. Must be able to communicate strongly and effectively. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Must provide courteous service to patients, residents, staff, and visitors. Must be able to perform routine job duties on a continual basis and perform job duties despite frequent interruptions. Must be flexible in regard to hours, job assignment and location of job assignment on and within the community. Attend in-service training. Ability to work with others. Report all incidents/accidents to Department Leader before the end of the shift. Must adhere to personnel policies, safety policies and resident rights. Ability to meet employer's attendance policy.
