ICU Travel RN Opportunity

Join Baptist Medical Center South for a travel nursing opportunity in the ICU. This 13-week assignment starts on July 20, 2026, and ends on October 19, 2026. The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with three shifts per week. The facility is a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU, recognized as a Primary Stroke Center.

The ICU team includes:

• General Cardiac ICU with 10 beds, caring for STEMI, post heart cath, respiratory failure, post cardiac arrest, post stroke care, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, and critical care needs.
• CVICU with 12 beds, focusing on post op CABG, Valve, thoracotomies, V-A and V-V ECMO, post cardiac arrest, post heart cath, post op vascular surgery, and critical care.
• MIC with 14 beds, managing acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, acute liver failure, DKA, sepsis/septic shock, and some post-surgical patients.
• Neuro ICU with 14 beds, treating CVA, Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), Subdural hemorrhage (SDH), intraparenchymal hemorrhage (IPH), and seizures.
• Surgical ICU with 14 beds, providing care for post surgical, trauma, vascular, multisystem trauma, and neuro trauma patients.

Patient ratios are 1:2. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Support on the unit includes CNAs, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, hospitalist, and telemetry monitoring tech. ICU monitoring technology includes Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors.

Orientation includes 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit for new or return travelers who have been gone for 1+ years. Rehires will have orientation based on their last date here. The schedule includes every other weekend rotation, with one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy. Shift times are 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with a 6-week schedule cycle.
