Assessment Specialist, Behavioral Health

As an Assessment Specialist, you will provide essential support in patient care. How You'll Contribute Facilitate response to a request for services, including initial response, assessment, referral process, level of care designation, admission, and follow up. Conduct initial evaluation, initiate assessment, document patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provide information to MD for LOC determination. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills with patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers. Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA. Maintain all preadmission and admission paperwork accurately and complete pre‑certification with insurance companies. Associate's degree in nursing or Master's degree in social work/counseling required. Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with adult and geriatric patients preferred.
