As a Physical Therapist Assistant you will carry out our mission by delivering direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards and the patient’s physician orders. Responsibilities Promote Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care. Perform direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patient’s physician. Follow the Plan of Care as established by the Physical Therapist, and report any changes in status. Adhere to the State Practice Act Guidelines. Verify the Plan of Care before each visit and provide care according to physician orders, assessment data, and established standards. Incorporate patient care goals from the Plan of Care into therapy care. Instruct patients and/or their families in the appropriate and safe use of prosthetic, orthotic and assistive devices (e.g., canes, walkers, wheelchairs). Instruct the patient and/or caregiver in the therapy home program. Work in a physically demanding, high‑stress environment involving full range of body motion, handling, lifting, and transferring patients. Potentially work irregular hours, including call hours if applicable. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association. Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work. 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred. Able and willing to travel within the coverage area; must have a dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws. Willing to travel 50% of the time. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment. Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay range: $31 to $38, which may include additional earnings for work beyond quota, bonuses, on‑call, or other performance‑based compensation variables.
