Job Title: Cashier Location: Retail Grocery Store Location

The cashier associate is responsible for increasing customer trust and loyalty by providing accurate, fast, and courteous checkout service. This person maintains financial responsibility in their service lane.

Responsibilities and Key Duties:

• Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers promptly, courteously, and amicably.
• Listen to and appropriately escalate customer concerns to management with a positive attitude.
• Manage the lane according to service standards.
• Inform customers of special offers and promotions as requested by the company or store management.
• Accurately record sales through scanning system; operate cash register equipment precisely and efficiently, recognizing all forms of tender and providing correct change when appropriate.
• Stock front-end products; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost.
• Place discarded or returned merchandise.
• Return shopping carts to the cart corral.
• Assist in training new cashiers.
• Maintain the work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report defective equipment and hazards to management.
• Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized discounts, defacement of property, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Meet legal and company policy age requirements for job functions.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug tests and background verification.
• Preferred: High standard of integrity and reliability.
