JOB SUMMARYThis position provides professional Imaging care. Assist the Radiologist with exams, correlates different exams with other technicians.GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Performs all radiographic proceduresPerform all bone density porceduresIf in a float position, must be available to work at any of HMA’s Imaging locations.Adheres to X-ray and bone density quality control standardsAssists physicians and ensure maximum efficiency; set up for procedures and examinations; obtain X-ray and other reports for physician reviewTriage patients to ensure productive departmental flowRecord health history of patients; note abnormal conditions for physician; prepare patients for exams and proceduresMaintain adequate stock levels of suppliesSet up and stock exam rooms for daily use; keep rooms and equipment clean between proceduresFollow clinic policies for infection control in handling and disposing of infectious/hazardous waste materialsAdhere to Quality Control Guidelines, including all reportsAdhere to Service StandardsPerform other tasks as neededMust have predictable and consistent attendanceSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITESThis job has no supervisory responsibilitiesEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONSGraduation from an accredited Radiology Technical ProgramValid state Radiologic Technologist registration in both X-ray and Bone DensityValid State of Tennessee License for X-rayKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge of the principles and skills needed for X-Ray to provide excellent patient care and treatmentKnowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room proceduresKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environmentSkill in using various types if equipment for examination and treatment proceduresSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the publicAbility to maintain quality control standardsAbility to recognize problems and recommend solutionsAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situationAbility to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and proceduresAbility to communicate clearlyComputer knowledge requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTMust be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day.Requires regular walking, bending, pushing, pulling and liftingMust be able to lift at least 10-15lbsMust be able to assist patients with transfers from chair to wheelchair, to exam tables, and back to wheelchair/chairMust be able to assist patient with turning/positioning on exam tableMust be able to push patient in wheelchairMust be able to manipulate objects—reaching, grasping, handlingMust exhibit good communication skills—understand, respond and translate into actionClinical setting; exposure to communicable diseases, medical preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Heritage Medical Associates
