Licensed Veterinary Technician – Help Us Help Paws!

Grass Lake Animal Hospital in the charming village of Grass Lake, Michigan is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or an Experienced Veterinary Assistant who doesn't mind a little fur on their scrubs and knows the difference between a pit bull and a porcupine (important). You'll work alongside veterinarians and fellow animal lovers to:

• Cuddle stressed-out critters (yes, it's a job requirement)
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked—because no one wants to search for the thermometer after the patient arrives
• Take vitals and assist during exams and procedures
• Assist Doctors with surgeries
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and feces
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones
• Educate pet parents without using too much Latin
• Provide TLC to both four-legged and two-legged clients

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Animal Care or related field is a plus. Licensed in the state of MI and in good standing with the board for all LVTs. Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a must. Physical ability to lift and handle animals of varying sizes. You're not squeamish (because things will ooze). You know how to keep your cool during a Chihuahua tantrum. You're a team player with a strong stomach and a soft heart. Bonus points if you can do all this while holding a cup of coffee.
