Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Valid RN license Certifications: ACLS before starting date BLS before starting date PALS before starting date TNCC before starting date CPI before starting date NIHSS before starting date ENPC within 90 days of hire Must-Have: 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting Teamwork mentality Ability to coach and give feedback in real time Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department Description: The emergency department has 101 beds. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical cases and can go up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. Technicians are available to work in cardiac monitoring and the internal processing area, as well as triage. Unit clerks are scheduled for both days and nights. The department uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors for patient care. The documentation system utilized is Cerner. Scheduling requirements include every other weekend, with no commitment to block scheduling. Scheduling must meet the needs of the department. There is no floating outside the emergency department, but staff must be open to floating within all sections of the emergency department. Patient experience requirements include AIDET, respectful behavior, and keeping patients updated throughout their visit. This department is known for teamwork and welcoming personalities. Staff enjoys serving a diverse community with over 120 languages spoken in the area. Advanced skills are needed for various procedures performed in the unit. Unit guidelines and policies will be provided on the first day. Awards and recognition opportunities are available for exemplary service.
