Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Controller for an organization located in the Sacramento area! As the controller, you will play a hands-on role. You'll be a critical contributor to the financial health of the company and its and its affiliate organizations, directly influencing their success. Core duties and responsibilities include:

• Oversees accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Manages financials for multiple small to mid-sized organizations.
• Prepares and reviews GAAP-compliant financial and consolidated statements.
• Reviews supporting schedules and other periodic financial reports.
• Coordinates internal and external audits, including audit preparation and resolving discrepancies.
• Reviews annual tax returns and compliance filings.
• Conducts financial and management analyses; researchers compliance issues in accounting, tax, audit, and payroll.
• Participates in annual budget planning and recommends adjustments.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA Required
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
• Experience in labor organizations is required; not-for-profit experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS applications, knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is from $160K to $175K, depending on experience.
