The Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) in the General Ledger Unit supports departments using the FI$Cal system. The Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) works closely with the State Controller's Office to help complete Month-End and Year-End Close activities. In this role, the incumbent provides customer support, researches and resolves system issues, and serves as a subject matter expert for key accounting modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Project Costing, Grants, and Customer Contracts. The position also supports change requests and provides Level 2 functional support, offering guidance on accounting and data processing concepts while helping users resolve incident tickets in a timely manner.

Please note that to be list appointed for placement in the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) classification, you must take and pass the examination.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
