Eurofins Environment Testing seeks a Senior Applications Chemist to serve as technical expert for GC and GC/MS instrumentation in their Folsom laboratory. The role involves troubleshooting analytical issues, optimizing methods, mentoring staff, and supporting continuous improvement across environmental testing operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical authority for GC and GC/MS instrumentation and applications
• Lead investigations of complex analytical issues affecting data quality or turnaround time
• Support method development, modification, and validation for client needs and regulatory changes
• Establish best practices for instrument maintenance, system cleanliness, and performance monitoring
• Provide advanced training and mentorship to laboratory teams

Requirements

• BS or MS in Chemistry or related field
• Extensive experience with GC/MS platforms including GC/MS/MS
• Demonstrated leadership in method development and technical problem-solving
• Experience with air-phase analysis and EPA Toxic Organic Compendium methods preferred
• Team mentoring and cross-functional influence experience
• Authorization to work in United States without sponsorship
• Professional English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking

Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 per year
