REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

Location: Geneseo, IL
Schedule: 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM | 3rd Shift: 10:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Shift Lengths: 8- or 12-hour shifts available
Pay: Starting at $35.91/hour + $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
• Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 2:30 PM and 7:00 AM.
• Weekend Differential: Additional $1.00/hour for hours worked from Friday at 10:45 PM through Sunday at 11:00 PM.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to residents under the supervision of administrative nursing staff. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting residents' conditions, administering medications and treatments, communicating with physicians, maintaining accurate clinical records, and supporting residents' overall well-being. The RN also supervises nursing assistants and ensures care is provided in accordance with applicable regulations, facility policies, and nursing standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with facility and nursing service policies and procedures.
• Observe, assess, document, and report residents' symptoms, conditions, and reactions to medications, tests, and treatments.
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Prepare and administer medications according to established procedures, understand their pharmacological and therapeutic effects, and maintain accurate narcotic counts.
• Communicate with physicians regarding residents' conditions and transcribe physician orders.
• Maintain accurate resident care plans and clinical records, including nursing notes, assessment sheets, consent forms, and medication and treatment records.
• Prepare incident reports, evaluations, referrals, skin restorative documentation, and transfer and discharge paperwork.
• Participate in and oversee resident care plans.
• Supervise nursing assistants and other assigned personnel, providing direction and discipline as needed.
• Assist with the orientation and training of new personnel and participate in staff development and in-service programs.
• Keep medication rooms stocked with supplies.
• Conduct regular bed checks, ensure residents are not left unattended or permitted to wander from the premises, and respond promptly to call lights.
• Immediately report incidents of abuse and begin the investigation.
• Attend scheduled nursing meetings and review or sign meeting minutes as required.
• Promote effective communication and relationships across departments.
• Keep the charge nurse informed of departmental activities and the conditions of assigned residents.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Registration with the state's Professional Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must satisfy the requirement of 20 continuing education hours in accordance with Illinois Department of Professional Regulation requirements.
• Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures, medication administration, federal and state regulations related to resident care, and facility policies.
• Must adhere to professional standards and the nursing code of ethics.
• Patience, tact, compassion, and a genuine interest in residents' well-being are essential.

EXPERIENCE
• On-the-job training is provided as part of the nursing training program.
• Geriatric or long-term care experience is beneficial but not required.
