Key Responsibilities

• Promptly answer and direct telephone calls with professionalism.
• Greet patients warmly and maintain respectful communication.
• Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding patient information.
• Schedule appointments following established protocols.
• Assist patients and guardians with patient portal setup and registration.
• Make confirmation calls and guide patients to complete necessary paperwork online.
• Handle messages efficiently and update patient records during each encounter.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments at the time of service.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability in attendance and punctuality.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.

Experience

Preferably two years in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting with customer service responsibilities.

Certifications

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various movements such as turning, pushing, and reaching. The work environment is a medical office with potential exposure to infectious diseases and occasional challenging interactions.
