Field Service Technician (Level 1)

PBNA $31.90 / hour Flexible shift: Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 8:30 pm. An entry‑level skilled position focused on training and skill development. The role involves the installation, setup, repair, and ongoing maintenance of vending, cooling, and fountain equipment at customer accounts. The candidate diagnoses equipment problems and determines how best to repair or replace them. The position requires independent work and frequent customer contact, and the employee must pass Pepsi Pro certification within the required timeframe. Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pulling, and/or moving 20–45 pounds repeatedly during the workday, kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, and bending while making repairs, and moving vending machines weighing 800–1,200 pounds. Primary Accountabilities Repair and perform preventative maintenance on marketing equipment Unload and reload with products as necessary Educate customers on basic equipment repair and upkeep procedures Install equipment by making holes and routing lines to connect products to dispensing units, connecting water and gas supply, and locating drains for ice‑producing units Fill installed equipment and adjust to the proper mixture Drive to locations, evaluate situations, and perform necessary work (plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, carpentry) Collect accurate and complete equipment and customer information Remove old parts and replace them with new parts Maintain parts inventory on the service truck Establish a positive relationship with contacts at service calls Complete documentation on the e‑pad after each call Transport miscellaneous items (compressors for repair or scrap, cardboard for recycle, etc.) Follow all safety requirements, regulations, and processes Follow all driving rules and regulations when operating the company vehicle Complete all job‑role training modules (Pepsi Pro training) Build competence and skill in diagnosis and repair of beverage‑industry equipment Maintain regular, reliable, predictable attendance Basic Qualifications 18 years or older 21 years or older if a valid U.S. CDL is required CDL license with non‑excepted interstate status (if applicable) Pass DOT Physical and DOT Road‑test if required Adhere to DOT Regulations Ability to communicate effectively in English if CDL is required Note: In all California locations except Stockton, both non‑excepted intrastate and non‑excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non‑excepted interstate status is accepted. Helpful Experience Working with mechanical systems (troubleshooting and repairing appliances, basic household repair in plumbing, circuits, fuses, electrical components, hand tools, power tools) Serving customers (resolving customer issues, communicating with store managers, following up on customer requests) Working with basic refrigeration systems (understanding the refrigeration cycle, Freon, compressors, evaporators, condensers) Working with electrical systems (understanding flow, wiring, outlets) Working with plumbing (drains, water supply, ice makers, shut‑off valves, copper welding, filtration systems) Equipment installation (HVAC, refrigeration, auto, copiers, fountain products) All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
